Dejan Mirovic: Artificial analogy between Ukraine and Kosovo

In connection with the tragic events in Ukraine, in Serbia and in the West, in a Russophobic context, an artificial analogy is made between the NATO aggression against the FRY in 1999 and the war in Ukraine, as well as the secession of the so-called Kosovo and the independence of the DNR and LNR. However, the legal facts show that this is not true. On the contrary, there is room for a completely different comparison. NATO, major Western countries and the so-called Kosovo for more than 20 years, do not respect the UN Security Council Resolution 1244, which is binding on all States under international law.

The usual views of pro-Western liberals are that when they think of the West, it makes them think of democracy, freedom of speech and human rights. The East, on the other hand, makes them think of dictatorship and repression. They create their own misconceptions on the basis of the media reports and propaganda that have been spread by the world’s media for decades. If you ask them what they think about the enforcement of democracy by bombs, they will not have an answer to that question.

Letter to the Commissioner for Human Rights concerning the situation of Serbs in Croatia

Thank you for responding to our previous letter. We would like to draw your attention to the violation of the human rights of Serbs in Croatia. As you know, the election campaign for the parliamentary elections to be held on July 5 of this year is currently in full swing in Croatia. However, the Serb minority in Croatia is increasingly becoming the target of inflammatory political rhetoric and hate speech.
