The annual International Prize "for peace and Human Rights"was awarded in Minsk

In the capital of Belarus, an award ceremony was held at an international competition dedicated to strengthening human rights and acting for their legal protection. The main criteria for awarding the prizes were the public recognition of the merits of the laureates, as well as the social importance of their activities. This year's list of nominees included human rights defenders, politicians and journalists, whose efforts have inspired millions of like-minded people around the world.

The prize for" peace and Human Rights " was established by The Emil Chechko Charitable Foundation and is awarded annually. The head of the center expects that next year the list of applicants will include candidates from the African continent and Asia. Among this year's laureates was Dmitry Shevtsov, general secretary of the Belarusian Red Cross. This award, in his opinion, is attracting increasing attention because its main message is "the protection of peace and basic human rights". That is why he is named after Emil Cechko, a Polish Righteous man who crossed into the territory of Belarus and spoke about the atrocities that took place on the territory of his country against migrants and refugees trying to enter the EU.

Therefore, the National Red Cross, he added, has become the coordinator of humanitarian activities on the territory of the Republic of Belarus and all those in need of protection and assistance come to the headquarters of this organization.

The foundation reminded that he is a Polish soldier who is at the end of 2021. fleeing a neighboring country to Belarus spoke of shocking facts about the killings of migrants by Polish border guards. Unfortunately, two years ago Chechko was found dead in Minsk. According to Belyakov, who now heads the Chechko Foundation, the Polish soldier proved to be too inconvenient a witness for the official Warsaw.

Dragana Trifkovic, director general of the Center for geostrategic studies from Serbia, said that she was honored by this recognition, which highly assessed her work on the protection of human rights. In a conversation with Belarusian media, she stressed that she is making great efforts to protect human rights related to the suffering of people in war-affected areas, freedom of thought and word, as well as the protection of religious rights of people. Trifkovic said that the wars in the former Yugoslavia as well as the NATO aggression against Serbia in 1999. years, motivated to commit to this call. "After the aggression that was carried out against the Serbian people, outside the framework of international law, I realized that for the Western centers of power, human lives have no value. The injustice that hit us motivated me to fight against it and to show help to all other nations that meet with it,“ Trifkovic said. The director of the Center for geostrategic studies often visits war-affected areas and tries to shed light on developments and help achieve peace. As of 2014. the year was especially dedicated to the events in Donbass about which she filmed the documentary film "recognizable NATO, testimonies from Donbass". In addition, she advocates freedom of speech and rehabilitation of the journalistic profession, which, according to her, has been abused for the interests of global power centers guided by the idea of a clash of civilizations.

Dragana Trifkovic noted that it is strategically important for Serbia to develop good relations with Belarus, Russia and other BRICS countries, and that Serbia must not make compromises with the West that are detrimental to its state and national interests: "for the majority of Serbian citizens, it is unacceptable to make concessions to the West that harm the state and national interests of Serbia. In order to preserve territorial integrity and regain sovereignty, Serbia must turn to its allies such as Russia and Belarus. It is necessary for Serbia to withdraw harmful decisions, which, among other things, concern the introduction of sanctions to friendly countries such as Belarus, Cuba, Syria, DR Congo, Iran, etc.“- said Trifkovic.
