US Sanctions Are Killing Syrians and Are a Human Rights Violation

By Steven Sahiounie

Damascus is now bitterly cold and is soon to be blanketed with snow. About 12 million Syrians are facing a deadly winter without heating fuel, gasoline for transportation, and dark houses each evening without electricity. Aleppo, Homs, and Hama are also extremely cold all winter.

Imagine being ill and having to walk to the doctor or hospital.  The ambulances in Syria will now respond only to the most life-threatening calls because they must conserve gasoline, or face running out entirely. Gasoline on the black market costs Syrians an equivalent of 50 US dollars for a tank of 20-liter fuel.

Reborn Russia and Kosovo

By Dr. Vladislav B. Sotirovic

A peaceful dissolution of the USSR according to the agreement between Mikhail Gorbachev and Ronald Reagan in 1988 in Reykjavik brought a new dimension of global geopolitics in which up to 2008 Russia, as a legal successor state of the USSR, was playing an inferior role in global politics when an American Neocon concept of Pax Americana became the fundamental framework in international relations. Therefore, for instance, Boris Yeltsin’s Russia capitulated in 1995 to the American design regarding an outcome of the USA/EU policy of the destruction of ex-Yugoslavia in November 1995 (the Dayton Agreement) followed by even worse political capitulation in the case of Washington’s Kosovo policy that became ultimately implemented in June 1999 (the Kumanovo Agreement). Russia in the 1990s was geopolitically humiliated by the USA and its West European clients to such an extent that we can call the period of Boris Yeltsin’s servile policy toward the West a Dark Time in the history of Russian international relations when the main losers became the Serbs who were and still are (since February 2022 together with Russians) extremely demonized by the Western mass-media and academic institutions.[i]

Helga Zepp-LaRouche: One Step Away From the Nuclear Annihilation of Mankind!

To all religions, elected officials, civic organizations, and people of good will worldwide

The international Schiller Institute endorses the offer of Pope Francis to use the venue of the Vatican for negotiations between Russia and Ukraine for a diplomatic settlement of the war in Ukraine. The confrontation between the U.S., NATO, and Russia has escalated to the point where one more step, even an unintended mistake, one misreading by one side or the other, could trigger the launching of the entire nuclear arsenals of both sides, leading to a global nuclear war, followed by a nuclear winter of about ten years, which would mean that in all likelihood not one human being would survive.

Paul Craig Roberts: the possibility of nuclear war is awfully high

The Biden regime's Secretary of state, Blinken, has blocked talks between Russia and Ukraine, saying the goal of US policy is to drive Russia out of its reclaimed territories, including Crimea.

Biden's statement that the U.S. will use nuclear weapons against non-nuclear threats, as well as the knowledge that U.S. nuclear weapons are deployed near Russia, force Putin to drop his promise not to use nuclear weapons first.

In other words, unlike the Cold War at 20. for centuries, today there is a trigger for nuclear war. People who say nuclear war is impossible because there would be no winner don't know what they're talking about. Wars are the product of people, and people are emotional and stupid. They're making too many mistakes. That's how people work.

We Are Being Put in Chains

By Paul Craig Roberts, Ph.D.

The Center for Geostrategic Studies organized from December 6-8 the International Online Conference: The Reanimation of Fascism in the 21st Century in Europe and the Possibility of its Prevention.

Among the eminent speakers was the American professor Dr. Paul Craig Roberts, whose speech we publish here below.

My appreciation to those with the foresight to organize this conference.

I limit my remarks to definite clarity. By "fascism" I assume we mean not strictly economic corporation between government and private business, but the over-riding of citizens' values and opinions by powerful groups in control of governing. We mean by fascism the ignorance and suppression of popular opinion.

The Prospect of Nuclear War Is Getting too Close for Comfort

By Paul Craig Roberts

Biden Regime Secretary of State Blinken has blocked negotiations between Russia and Ukraine by declaring it is US policy to drive Russia out of the reincorporated territories, including Crimea.

Biden’s announcement that the US will use nuclear weapons against non-nuclear threats, and the knowledge that US nuclear weapons are deployed close to Russia are forcing Putin to abandon his no first use of nuclear weapons pledge.

Paul Craig Roberts: they put us in chains

The Center for geostrategic studies organized an international online conference from December 6-8: The revival of fascism at 21. century in Europe and the possibility of its prevention

Among the eminent speakers was American professor Dr. Paul Craig Roberts, whose address we convey in full.

Thank you to those who were willing to organize this conference.

I limit my remarks to clarity of definition. By "fascism" I suppose we mean not only the economic corporation between government and private business, but the predominance of the values and opinions of citizens by the powerful groups that control governance. By fascism we mean ignoring and suppressing public opinion.
