Dragana Trifkovic interview Eurasia expert
How would you characterize Russian-Serbian relations in 2020? the year and what to expect from bilateral relations in the New Year? Will our countries face New Temptations and challenges in the coming year?
Russian-Serbian relations in 2020. they have entered a new stage of dynamics. From the Serbian side, I think that there have been ill-considered foreign policy moves that have put our country in an awkward position. Officially, Serbia implements a foreign policy that relies on four pillars, namely Brussels, Washington, Moscow and Beijing. However, Serbia's rapprochement with the United States in the current year, and especially the signing of the agreement in Washington, raises questions about whether Serbia has thus opted for only one pillar? It is about the fact that the Washington Agreement interfered in Serbian-Russian and Serbian-Chinese relations, as well as Serbia's relations with the EU. In this regard, we will see how the new US administration will deal with the obligations undertaken by the Serbian side. As for Russia, I would commend Russia's wisdom and patience in foreign policy. Despite the many obstacles it faces, Russia is behaving responsibly and soberly. It's really respectful.
