Throughout my life, what I have noticed is that Republicans define patriotism mainly in terms of opposing foreign enemies. This was most pronounced during the long cold war with the Soviet Union. It is certainly true that we should be on guard against foreign enemies, but we must not be so on guard to create enemies where there are none or refuse to defuse tensions and replace hostile relations with cooperative ones as President John F. Kennedy once did. Kennedy said he intended to do so before he was assassinated and as President Trump intended to do so before the Russia accusation prevented him.
The Republican and conservative focus on foreign enemies risks their blindness to many enemies of the Constitution at home, including enemies of freedom in the executive branch, Congress, the media, university colleges, and the judiciary who consider the U.S. Constitution a racist document that serves white supremacy and must be overthrown. This is the explicit position of the New York Times and many law schools, as well as that of the Democratic Party and many federal judges appointed during the democratic regime.
The reason democracy has failed in the United States is that those who make large campaign donations are allowed to buy government. Among those who buy our government, two lobbies are extremely influential: the military / security complex and the Israel lobby. I still remember the day that Senator Strom Thurmond, the longest-serving U.S. senator, in the U.S. Senate chamber patted me, a member of the Senate, on the shoulder and said to me, "son, Don't ever let your senator vote against the military bill or he won't be here next term and you'll be out of work.”
Shortly afterwards, I learned that voting against any law favoring Israel also amounted to an end to official voting.
Today we see evidence of that. Biden has threatened, only for the effect of public relations, to halt the supply of U.S. weapons to Israel if Israel continues its barbaric attacks on the civilian population of Gaza. Republicans immediately called for Biden's recall.
Republican Senator Tom Cotton accused Biden of surrendering to "pro-Hamas agitators" and stopping the flow of U.S. weapons Israel needs to exterminate the Palestinians. To be clear, a" pro-Hamas agitator " is a person of moral conscience who opposes the genocide of Palestine and its people by the Zionist Israeli state in the hands of the accused criminal Netanyahu who has the support of a minority even within Israel.
Republican Corey Mills of the House of Representatives is drafting an impeachment against Biden, not because he actually kept the weapons for Israel, but because he threatened to withhold them if Israel continued to use them to slaughter women and children and expel Palestinians from Palestine.
Kash Patel, a Republican who constantly appeals to us for support, condemns Biden for threatening to stop supporting the Israeli genocide against the Palestinian people.
Another Republican, Jim Banks, jumped on Biden's indictment for giving in to genocide protesters on university campuses.
We are faced with an extraordinary situation. Democrats, who believe white America should be replaced, have more sympathy for Palestinians than Republicans, who are determined to protect Israel, but not white Americans who have been transferred to second-class citizens. Remarkably, Israel can easily use the U.S. government to protect its genocide over Palestine, but white American citizens cannot use their own government to protect them from being replaced by immigrant invaders.
