American debts are astronomical, Japanese and European, and the Vatican budget is no stranger to a deficit. Final bill for 2º23. The Vatican says 83 million euros are missing from the Treasury, which is five million euros more than the deficit recorded in 2022. These figures have not yet been officially published, but they have been published by the Roman "Repubblica" (Repubblica), Italy's most influential newspaper. This "hole in the budget" could, according to the newspaper, be further expanded due to the reduced money flow from the contributions of believers (so-called."Obolo de San Pedro"). At 2º22.for years, payments of believers to the Vatican budget were less by 43.5 million euros compared to the year before, and already in 2023 by 48.4 million euros, which should not be surprising when it is known that the galloping dehristianization of Europe is underway, that churches are being torn down, but also that the pope himself supports the LGBT+ agenda and that he appeared with a cross in rainbow colors around the neck. Pope Francis says external resources should be sought to achieve the goal of deficit zero. One of these "resources," i.e.the path to the coming not only to souls, but also to the pockets of believers is ecumenism on which the Vatican and Phanar work diligently (read now under whose baton Patriarch Bartholomew works).
These figures from the final account for 2º23.for a year, they forced Pope Francis to turn to the cardinal college and ask for help so as not to get into a position of bankruptcy. When it comes to the Vatican, bankruptcy is a difficult word, given that there is huge treasure in its basements, that it has shares in large financial systems and banks, a large number of real estate that also generate income, etc. But Pope Francis says in his letter to the Cardinals that he is "aware that the Vatican budget is limited and should be governed with accuracy and seriousness, so as not to waste the efforts of those who contribute to it. Therefore, it is necessary to make the "deficit zero" not only a theoretical but also a practical goal. The priority is to promote mutual cooperation and synergy. We should be aware that today we meet with strategic decisions, which we must take with great responsibility, as we are called to guarantee the future of the mission. Finally, I ask you to receive this message with boldness in the spirit of Service and to support the ongoing reforms with conviction, loyalty and generosity by contributing practically your knowledge and experience to the reform process.“
No matter how important the pope is to achieve the goal of "deficit zero", at least as important should be to the Orthodox clergy the preservation of the unity of the Orthodox Church,which is under attack from many sides, and one of them is the "hole in the budget" of the Vatican.
