Patriarch of the Serbian Orthodox Church porphyria:
"I said, and I will repeat, Zagreb and I love each other publicly; and now I will add, Croatia and I love each other publicly; no matter how much it bothers someone, it is their problem!"
Under the vaults of the Serbian Patriarchate, the Orthodox Theological Faculty, as well as among the faithful of the Serbian Orthodox Church (SoC), the news is circulating that Serbian dignitaries (primarily Bishop Irinej Bulovic of Backa and his spiritual son Patriarch Irinej) are actively working on preparations for the pope's arrival in Serbia. For the sake of truth, it is necessary to note that since St. Sava, the first head of the autocephalous Serbian Church, not one of our high priests has met the Roman Pope.
In spite of this, the very top of the Serbian political elite expresses its consent for the pope to visit Serbia, primarily in gratitude for the failure of the Vatican to recognize the self-proclaimed "state of Kosovo", which in a barbaric way and with the help of NATO, has been torn from the state legal system and the Constitution of the Republic of Serbia.
Evidence of non-recognition. the state of Kosovo by the Vatican, in itself, causes astonishment and ridicule, especially if a few facts are taken into account. First of all, when it comes to the breakdown of the statehood of the Republic of Serbia in Kosovo and Metohija, the most illustrative is the fact that although the Vatican has not officially recognized the so-called Kosovo. the independence of the southern Serbian province, at the same time, thanks to Wikileaks, we find out that it is 30. April 2008. not long after the "Assembly of Kosovo" on 17.02.2008. adopted by acclamation the Declaration on the "independence of Kosovo", the US Embassy in Rome sent a confidential dispatch number 0971, which says that Monsignor Miguel Mauri told US officials that "the Holy See has 'de facto' recognized the independence of Kosovo, but this has not been officially announced, solely for the sake of leaving the doors open for the conduct of ecumenical dialogue with the SPC."
Another striking example is the decision of the Holy See to split the Belgrade Archbishopric of the Roman Catholic Church into two parts, namely: the Belgrade and the Kosovo archbishopric, which was done immediately after the proclamation of the so-called independence of Kosovo in 2008. years. It is almost unbelievable how these facts remain unknown to the Serbian Church and political elite?
Also, the sincerity of the attitude of the Roman Catholic Church towards the Serbian Orthodox Church is best seen in the example that occurred almost 80 years ago, 4 to be exact. March 1945. years. At that time, the communist regime put great pressure on the Serbian Orthodox Church (SoC) to recognize the autocephaly of the so-called Macedonian Orthodox Church, which one of the greatest patriarchs in the history of the SOC, German, vigorously refused, pointing out "that in this way the SOC would commit suicide". And then, on that date, by order and with the full support of the communist regime, the so-called. The "initiative committee" was convened by the Macedonian church-people's Council, which was attended by about 300 delegates from all over Macedonia, while on behalf of the Roman Catholic Church Alojz Turk, the later Archbishop of Belgrade, was present? In this way, the desire of the Vatican to disintegrate the SOC was clearly demonstrated.
When it comes to relations between the Vatican and the Serbian Orthodox Church, as well as the Serbian people, it should be added that it is at the round table organized by the movement for Serbia, on the occasion of the meeting of the European group of the Trilateral Commission in Belgrade from 31. October to 2. November 2014. one of the greatest professors in the history of the Faculty of law in Belgrade, Prof. Dr Smilja Avramov spoke about the secret agreement and the destruction of orthodoxy by the Vatican, the USA and Germany. Dr. Avramov said that "a secret agreement was made between these three countries in 1976. years in 11 points", one of which refers to the"total destruction of Orthodoxy". The participants of the secret agreement were crystal clear when they said that Orthodoxy must be removed from World Communications as a religion, because it is the only homogenizing moment of Orthodox countries that has political dimensions, which means that globalization with Orthodoxy would be very difficult to succeed.
The signatories of the document stated that in order to destroy the core of orthodox theology, it is necessary to destroy Orthodoxy as a whole, which is only possible to achieve by penetrating the Orthodox Church, by bribing Church dignitaries with large sums of money. Finally, they added that the realization of this plan is necessary, because orthodox theological thought is the only one that can be associated with what they call globalization.
In this context, one can clearly see the hypocrisy and role of the Roman Catholic Church in the destruction and destruction of Serbian and, somewhat earlier, Yugoslav statehood. At that time, the Vatican, with external aggressors and domestic helpers, forged plans to break both the statehood of the Kingdom of Serbia and the Kingdom of Montenegro, the statehood of the kingdom of SCS, socialist Yugoslavia and the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia and the statehood of the Republic of Serbia in Kosovo and Metohija.
After all of the above, we regret to note that there were very serious and serious failures on the part of the high dignitaries of the SOC, especially in relation to the representatives of the Roman Catholic Church. In this context, we cite excerpts from the work of Prof. Dr. Miodrag M. Petrović – "The pope's arrival in Serbia-yes or no – and the Latin God", 25. September 2018 years, p. 4:
"Ако if we bear in mind the fact that all members of the Holy Synod of bishops, for the first time in the history of the Serbian Church, visited Zagreb, where they sat with the Croatian cardinal and bishops in the hall with a painting of Alojzije Stepinac hanging above them, then it is clear what benefit Croats will derive from the participation of Serbian hierarchs in the 'mixed church'.commission." There should be no doubt that the Vatican will certainly declare Stepinac a ‘saint’ and regardless of what will be invented that he is a saint. he did a healing miracle …“.
"It is important for Croats that it is written that the Serbian Orthodox Church participated in this act, through the Catholic-Orthodox Commission. The one who takes honey with them, licks those fingers, i.e. he's in the same job for " rapprochement."

What should the Serbian Orthodox Church have done in this case? To reject the pope's proposal, and to form a special committee of truly expert members, whose study research would be published in a separate proceedings. Her participation in the "Mixed Commission" cannot be justified by anything. It is absolutely contrary to Canonical teaching and the whole Orthodox church practice.“
When it comes to the possible visit of the pope to Serbia, we will State the position of the Blessed Serbian Patriarch Gabriel V, (Memoirs of Patriarch Gabriel of Serbia, And, Paris 1974, pp. 593-594), from the conversation with Miha Kreka, vice-president of the Slovenian Workers ' Party and vice-president of the Ministry of the Council of the kingdom of Yugoslavia in emigration. On that occasion, Miha Krek told patriarch Gabriel V:
"Everything that has happened to you is known to the cultural world. and he pays his tribute to your stand in front of the enemies of the whole world. This view is shared here in Rome, in the Holy See. Pope Pius XII himself is well aware of the circumstances under which you lived until the end of the war. Appreciating your sacrifice for our people, the Holy Father the pope took a sincere interest in Your Holiness. He would like, since you are already in Rome near him, to personally help you in everything and give you the opportunity to be convinced of his benevolence and desire to enable you to live a normal life, which is appropriate for you as a Serbian Patriarch. You should have a decent villa with all the comforts, so that you can undisturbed your duties to our faithful, to the many refugees and the sick. The Holy See has the means to materially enable your extensive mission among the flock. The Holy Father is willing to help you in everything, and through you he wants to help Serbian refugees, to stand up for their accommodation and decent life. For all this it would be good for Your Holiness to meet with Holy Father Pius XII.“
The patriarch rejected the proposal, and that means every contact and meeting. He explained his position with the following words:
"After all that I briefly presented, is there a way and possibility for the Serbian Patriarch to get over all this? You yourself, Mr. minister, told me that you have information from allied sources that between 700 and 800 thousand Serbs were killed. Please, How can I get over all this now, and go to the Vatican at the feet of the Pope? It would be a deception, which I, as the Serbian Patriarch, could never allow myself to discuss, much less that possibility, even if I had been put to choose between death and life. I would have chosen death a hundred times, in the belief that I have not betrayed my path and the Serbian Orthodox Church and the Serbian people as a whole, who continue their martyrdom.“ (Memoirs..,I, P. 601).
Instead of commenting on Serbian sufferers during World War II, we would quote a short quote from Miodrag M. Petrović's work – "The pope's arrival in Serbia-yes or no – and the Latin God", 25. September 2018 years, P. 6:
"Када when it was 1987. in 2009, journalists asked Herzog – who on behalf of the Government of Israel had come on an official visit to Germany (I was then on a study trip in Frankfurt am Main) - if the Jews could forgive the Germans for the Holocaust, he replied: ‘You have to ask the victims for that.’“
Finally, speaking about the possible visit of the pope to Serbia, 46. the head of the Serbian Orthodox Church sitting on the throne of St. Sava, patriarch Porfirije (Prvoslav Perić), said:
"I personally had the opportunity to meet the current pope several times, on various occasions. I must say that from each of these meetings I was enriched and brought the most beautiful spiritual experiences possible. That, first of all, I saw in him a vast expanse of the Gospel, a breadth to which Christ calls us, a breadth in which there is room for all, regardless of which people he belongs to, which state, which faith, or if he feels himself and declares himself an infidel. As for the pope's visit to Serbia, I believe it would be both right and in the spirit of Christ's word calling for unity.“
Also, we have long been familiar with the publicly expressed sentiments of patriarch Porfirio that he harbors towards Zagreb, Croatia, the Roman Catholic Church and especially the Roman Pope, which represents his personal attitude, which we are sure is shared only by a negligible number of believers of the Serbian Orthodox church. His words were stated at the beginning of this text, and they read:
"I said, and I will repeat, Zagreb and I love each other publicly; and now I will add, Croatia and I love each other publicly; no matter how much it bothers someone, it is their problem!"
Your Holiness, our problem is that you are the patriarch of the Serbian Orthodox Church and you are on the throne of St. Sava, and you are not the Archbishop of Zagreb or some high priest of the Roman Catholic Church!
As far as we are concerned, we are born Orthodox and as orthodox we will end our lives. But we are not, and never will be, papists, ecumenists, modernists or liberals as well as actors!
We are believers of the One Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church, that is to say the only Orthodox one, which rests on the Apostolic rules, the decisions of the Ecumenical and local councils and on the teachings of all the Holy Fathers of the Orthodox Church.
