Statement by Dragana Trifkovic, director of the Center for geostrategic studies and coordinator of the Lebanese organization the Global Gathering to Support the Choice of resistance for Serbia
For decades, Palestine and the Palestinian people have been subjected to fierce aggression by the Israeli regime, which ignores international law and carries out systematic terror against the population of this state.
Since October last year, the Israeli regime has launched a total war against the civilian population in front of the eyes of the entire world. At the same time, Israel is trying to attribute blame to the victims of its aggression, which speaks of the extreme immorality and cruelty of this regime. This tyranny, which has already claimed too many innocent human lives, must be stopped as soon as possible. Although the world public expresses support for the Palestinian people, many political factors simply turn a blind eye to it. Just words of support are not enough, it must be moved into urgent action, in order to find a way to initiate political processes that will lead to a permanent ceasefire in Gaza, which is a prerequisite for further peaceful settlement of the Palestinian issue. The political process must be conducted within the framework of international law, whereby Palestine is guaranteed to exercise all its rights.
The Israeli military must leave Palestinian territories, which should only be the beginning of the neutralization of the aggressive claims of the Israeli regime and its return to the framework of international law, which also implies responsibility to international instances. The delay in this process may result in the expansion of war conflicts in the Middle East, where tensions are at a high level due to the ongoing terrorist actions of the Zionist regime throughout the region. The United States, which supports this regime in full, is no less responsible for the suffering of the Palestinians. For this reason, it is difficult to imagine that the US and Israel can give up their policy of force and aggression and sit at the negotiating table, but there is no other way out of this situation. The alienated political elites must understand that they are not God-given, elected or special to act outside all legal and legal frameworks, without accountability to their own citizens. If they are unable to understand, they will only contribute to their replacement as soon as possible.
Palestine and the Palestinian people have the right to exist, to a state, to freedom, to a perspective, and this is not only a matter for Palestinians, but for every free man on earth.
