The ninth Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok began on 3. September and will last until 6. September 2024. years.
The Eastern Economic Forum (IEF) is a key international platform for creating and strengthening ties between the Russian and global investment communities, in addition to always providing a comprehensive assessment of the economic potential of the Russian Far East, presenting its investment opportunities and business conditions in Priority Development Areas.
In a recent speech, Russian President Vladimir Putin stressed that the Forum shows how the Russian Federation remains a key player in global trade, despite obstacles imposed by the West – such as illegitimate sanctions.
According to him, friendly countries account for three-quarters of Russian trade:
"Our relations with Asian countries are strengthening, growth – 60 percent from 2020. by 2023. "the Middle East: growth – doubled, Africa – 69%, Latin America-42%,” he said.
Despite numerous sanctions imposed by Western countries, a similar forum organized in 2023. more than 7,000 participants and media representatives from 62 countries and territories attended, as well as about 2,400 representatives of the economy. The largest delegations came from China, India, Myanmar, the Philippines, Laos and Mongolia.
More than 100 sessions of the main business program were held within the forum, focused on the most pressing issues of the International and regional agenda. More than 700 speakers and moderators participated. IEF 2023. he once again showed that a number of countries continue to increase trade ties with Russia. 373 contracts with a total value of 3 trillion 818 billion rubles were signed at the forum, including 41 contracts with foreign companies.
The main participants of the IEF among the representatives of foreign governments were Deputy Prime Minister of the State Council of the people's Republic of China Zhang Guoking, vice president of the Lao People's Democratic Republic Pani Yatotu, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of economy and development of Mongolia Khurelbaatar Chymed, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of transport and communications of Myanmar Mia Tun U. forum was also attended by 12 heads of diplomatic institutions.
The Forum's events are traditionally held in the form of panels, round tables, television debates, business breakfasts and business dialogues dedicated to Russia's relations with different countries of the world.
The Forum's business program includes business dialogues with key partner countries in the Asia-Pacific region, as well as with ASEAN, a key integration group of developing countries active in Southeast Asia.
The Forum is expected to take place in 2024. become a real milestone in the history of multipolar cooperation, bringing even closer friendly countries as well as the Russian Federation and Asian states.
