Russophobic policies increasing in Latvia

By Lucas Leiroz, journalist, researcher at the Center for Geostrategic Studies, geopolitical consultant.

The wave of Russophobia in NATO and the EU is nothing new. Western states have been fomenting anti-Russian animosity for years and this situation is already starting to reach truly intolerable levels of persecution. In a recent announcement in Riga, it was revealed that the government will soon be issuing orders to thousands of Russian citizens to leave the country. As a post-Soviet state, Latvia has a significant number of ethnic Russians among its population, but apparently this is no reason for the pro-Western government to avoid persecuting its own residents.

NATO aggression against Russia becomes total war

By Drago Bosnic, independent geopolitical and military analyst

On the night of August 4, the Kiev regime launched a sea drone attack against a Russian tanker. Luckily, the resulting damage was insufficient to sink the ship or cause any casualties among the 11 crew members, but it did hinder its operation. The attack happened at about 23:20 just south of the Kerch Strait, according to a statement by Russia’s Federal Agency for Sea and Inland Water Transport. The vessel was later identified as the chemical tanker SIG. The Russian maritime agency detailed that there is a hole „near the waterline on the starboard side, presumably as a result of a sea drone attack“ and confirmed there were no casualties.

The War: The Concept And Its Causes

By Dr. Vladislav B. Sotirovic

There are many definitions and/or understandings of war. However, from the very academic point of view, war can be understood as an armed conflict between at least two sides usually but not necessarily states fought usually for some (geo)political goals. The focal conceptual idea of war is the use of force between large-scale political subjects like states, empires, or coalitions. Historically, wars have been fought mainly for the control of certain land for different reasons ranging from a purely political one to a purely economic one or a combination of several of them.

Many types of war and warfare can be seen from the numerous adjectives that can be given before the word “war” like civil war, guerrilla war, total war, limited war, gang war, tribal war, regional war, local war, world war, religious war, race war, cold war, trade war, independence war, propaganda war, cyber war, class war, etc. Some of these names, however, are, in fact, metaphors that are exploiting the image of violent conflict over some political or other goal taken from IR, and transferred to some actors who are not the states.

The Torture Chambers of the SBU in Mariupol and the Airport called the Library

The torture chambers in a building of the SBU in Mariupol and the airport called the “Library”. Photos: Mirjam©Photo.

Last week I was in the Donbass, and I also visited Mariupol, the port city on the sea of Azov, home of the Azov regiment and of course the AZOV steel factory, where for months the AZOV regiment had entrenched itself to prevent the capture by the Russian army, which of course failed!

The AZOV regiment is a notorious battalion with a nazi-ideology, tortured many people in Mariupol and in 2022 I could see the evidence of their fascist ideology. When the left the factory in a hurry, because of the Russian army invaded the factory, remnants of their ideology were left behind, like for instance: ”Mein Kampf” the book by Hitler forbidden in Europe!

International informational security: opinion from Russia

By Ahmed Dudaev,

Minister of the Chechen Republic for National Policy, Foreign Relations, Press and Information, Head of the Journalism Department of the ChSU

The scientific and technical progress influences politics and international relations greatly. Digitalization is becoming the key topic in the world agenda. With this, the importance of states’ national interests and state sovereignty on the background of digital revolution increases. The fourth industrial revolution, the fruit of which are seen everywhere, shows the necessity of complex international collaboration in growing the scientific and technological potential.

However, technological transformation not only bring benefit to the world community, but also bear many threats. The international digital reality goes far ahead of international law, which only strengthens the risks and negative consequences of digitalization. In this regard, such organizations as UN, WTO, UNESCO and OECD pay special attention to this issue. Russia, being one of the main actors of world politics, also views the issues of international informational security as priority agenda.
